Consultation

The first step

In person or via phone/zoom, we'll plan out all the details of your session - date, location, wardrobe, and reserving hair and makeup. I'll provide you with a session guide so you know what to prepare and expect.

Planning all details

The second step

The details have all been handled, and now we have fun! This is where the magic happens! I'll guide you through a mix of traditional poses and candid, interactive ones that are unique to your family story.

The third step

The best part. We'll meet at my studio or virtually and you'll see your beautiful images for the first time. Cue ALL the feels. We'll work together to create beautiful heirloom artwork.

SIMPLICITY SESSION

A petite portrait experience designed for expectant moms, babies 3-12 months, and yearly milestone portraits. Capturing those sweet details that change so quickly. Available in studio only, not offered for newborns.

For the in between moments

- 15 minute session in studio on select weekdays
- curation and editing of 15 images
- reveal and design appointment to choose final artwork

FAQ

For that super sleepy, snuggly newborn stage, I aim to schedule your session when baby is around 8-14 days old. However, if you need a little more time, I photograph babies at every age! I recommend reaching out to schedule your newborn session any time after your 20 week scan.

at what age do you photograph babies and when should I book?

I find that the sweet spot for maternity photos is usually around 30-34 weeks. When you're clearly bumpin', but still comfortable! Maternity photos are so special and SO worth it. Years from now, your future self will be so grateful you documented this moment. I promise.

when is the best time for maternity photos?

Yes! Kids have big feelings - I'm a mom of two boys - one with lots of energy and one who can be very shy is new situations. I get it and I'm here to support you! I have lots of tricks of my sleeve, go with the flow, and never expect kids to be anything but kids.

My kids can be well, kids...is that okay?

Purchasing artwork is not required. However, my clients LOVE our frames and albums and often come to be because I specifically offer those services. Whether you have a wall in mind or need guidance, a huge part of what I do is help you get your images off your phone/cloud/drive and create tangible heirloom memories.

Do I have to buy artwork?

I do! In addition to newborns and families, I also shoot headshots, branding portraits, and events. You can learn more about that HERE.

Do you photograph anything besides babies and families?

Nothing would make me happier and you have come to the right place! As parents, we have the best of intentions, but there's never enough time. Time with your babies is the most precious, so let me take this off your plate. The first year collective is the perfect way to document your baby's first year and your family story.

Can you help me make a first year baby book?

We LOVE the talented Marie Buck Photography. The moments she manages to capture are priceless. When we did a studio session with my two daughters I was absolutely sure my 2 year old would not smile - she hated photos being taken - and yet I have photos with a happy 2 year old that I will absolutely treasure. We have also done an outdoor session and the kids had fun, were totally disarmed so that the photos captured their natural smiles and candid moments. Photos to me are frozen moments in time that I am too busy to think about capturing or, let’s face it, have the ability to take anything with me in! Having a session with Marie means we have that set of memories from that time in our lives to keep, frame and look back on.
